Tomaž F. Lovše, the president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovenia and the president of Diners Club Slovenia has on the occasion of the Bled Strategic Forum invited one of the most distinguished personalities within world politics, General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.), former Secretary of State in the years 2001-2005.

General Powell addressed the invited guests at the gala inaugural dinner of the Bled Strategic Forum with his solemn speech entitled: ”The Next 10 Years: The Essential Challenges of the International Community, the Roles of USA, China and EU in a Multipolar World.”

The main message of his speech has been that one should look forward to the future with optimism. There have already some difficulties occurred in the past and some will certainly appear in the future, nevertheless he believes the power may be above all gained by a cooperation of small and large nations. As such, in his opinion, Slovenia as well is able to play an important part in. A great occasion for such cooperation is at events and forums where representatives, heads of various countries meet and mutually search for opportunities for a better tomorrow.

He emphasized the meaning of energetic efficiency, the importance in settling for a compromise.

The esteemed guest was amazed at Bled and Slovenia and therefore used the official slogan of Slovenia: »I feel Slovenia« by adding »I feel love«.

In honour of the distinguished guest, there was also a reception for AmCham Slovenia members held at Villa Beli dvor, kindly hosted by Mr. Janez Škrabec.
