"Slovenia is just the right size of country," American students learned about their European experience, "the United States is renowned for its optimism and 'yes we can' attitude," said Slovenian students on the US.

On July 9, 2018, the Summer Economics Institute (SEI) 2018 started for 19 outstanding students from Slovenia and the USA. Since holidays can also be a time for entrepreneurship, AmCham Slovenia, in cooperation with the US Embassy in Slovenia, is connecting study and business paths through the Summer Economics Institute (SEI) program for the seventh consecutive year. This year, students from the USA who are in Slovenia as part of the European Experience in the Green Heart of Europe program will also be among the participants.

At the introductory meeting, Slovenian and US students were addressed by the US Ambassador to Slovenia, H. E. Brent R. Hartley, who said that entrepreneurship distinguishes and shapes the US and gives people the freedom to be creative in realizing their ideas. "Take advantage of the connections that you will make, you come from different countries and different study directions," the American ambassador told the students. The CEO of AmCham Slovenia, Ajša Vodnik, said that students should take the opportunity to connect, learn, expand their horizons, test the acquired knowledge as trainees, and socialize with young talents from both countries.
