The 5th Annual Summer Economics Institute (SEI) officially started by welcoming a new generation of SEI students at the NLB Center inovativnega podjetništva (NLB-CIP) on Monday, July 11, 2016.

 

Students were welcomed by the U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia H. E. Brent R. Hartley and AmCham Executive Director, MSc Ajsa Vodnik. She addressed the students by the following words: »SEI represents a unique opportunity for you and I hope you will make the most out of it. I wish you to learn a lot and stay curious.« They were also greeted by Blaž Brodnjak, the President of the NLB management board and host of the event.

 

Students had as well the opportunity to meet and greet with other SEI 2016 students, AmCham company mentors and US Professor of Entrepreneurship Jay Ebben, as well as US Embassy Ljubljana and AmCham Slovenia organizers.

The opening event will now be followed by the interactive lectures given by an American expert in entrepreneurship Jay Ebben, field trips and visits to a wide variety of companies and institutions, inspirational lectures with discussions of exceptional speakers as well as practical internships. This year students will be interning at the following AmCham member companies, who we would like to thank for their cooperation: Agilcon, Bisnode, Competo, Law firm Čad, Droga Kolinska, Goodyear Dunlop Sava, Microsoft, Petrol, Philip Morris, špica International.
