H.E. Joseph A. Mussomeli, the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Slovenia and mag. Ajša Vodnik, the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovenia attended the Meeting of Economists of Spodnje Podravje Region, recently held in Ptuj and on the occasion of which, a Round Table was held on the topic on Opportunities for Internalization of Local Firms to Enter Foreign Markets, at which also Mag. Josef Picej from Klagenfurt, Austria and entrepreneur from Ptuj, Marjan Žargi, Director MZK Elektro, participated.






“A well done business abroad leads to new business connections and to work in foreign markets,” said from own experiences Marjan Žargi, who in the past decade with his work asserted himself successfully on the German and American markets, and added that it is necessary to prove oneself continually and that his experiences in working with the American Chamber of Commerce are very positive. Mag. Josef Picej believes that Slovenian entrepreneurs are not brave and active enough.

H.E. Joseph A. Mussomeli noted that the corruption in Slovenia has to be prevented and that according to his opinion there are still many challenges to be dealt with by our government. Mag. Ajša Vodnik, American Chamber of Commerce – AmCham Slovenia: »One of the things that must be changed is probably the self image. As well the image we are actually presenting abroad«.

With more communication, networking and joint actions in foreign markets, the Slovenian economy will undoubtedly gain good opportunities to break into foreign markets, in which in the first place the ability and honesty matter.
