A morning coffee with the U.S. ambassador marked the official launch of the educational part of the Summer Economics Institute (SEI) 2017 program, where AmCham Slovenia in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy links academic and business paths of students from different fields of study for the sixth year in a row.


20 students from several faculties and various study programs will be tested during this year’s entrepreneurial summer through lectures and discussions, field trips to companies and institutions, designing and presenting their ideas.


The U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia, H.E. Brent R. Hartley, addressed the students: "I envy you that you can be part of such a program. You are going to meet students from different fields of study and that is great. Entrepreneurship distinguishes and shapes the United States, gives people the freedom to be creative in realizing their ideas.


Executive Director of AmCham Slovenia, Ajša Vodnik, MSc., encouraged the students with the following message: "The SEI program represents a unique opportunity for young talents to connect with each other. Stay curious and take advantage of your knowledge. "

The program will be guided by the U.S. Professor of Entreprenurship and Economics, Jay Ebben.


Students will gain their practical experience and knowledge in companies, members of AmCham Slovenia. Bayer, Bisnode, CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz – Podružnica v Sloveniji, Competo, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Kolektor Group, KPMG, Lemur Legal, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Pernod Ricard Slovenija, Philip Morris Ljubljana, Špica International and Union Hoteli will take part in this year’s SEI program.
