Matej Potokar was appointed as the new General Manager for Services in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), effective from 1st October 2011. He will join Services Team from the MBS business (Microsoft Business Solutions), where he is currently the Senior Director for CEE. Matej joined the MBS team in July 2010 and was instrumental in the CEE MBS team receiving the Top Multi-Subsidiary Area Award in the MBS organization in FY11.

Prior to working in Microsoft Business Solutions, Matej led the Microsoft Slovenian subsidiary. He significantly contributed to encouraging a positive and productive working environment in the Slovenian subsidiary. This was recognized with the Slovenian subsidiary being awarded the Top Subsidiary Award in 2010 for Developed Medium and Small markets. After joining Microsoft in 2003, Matej worked in a number of management positions; leading the Services Group in the regions of Adriatic, Southeast Europe, as well as being the Services Lead for Multi-Country in CEE, before taking on the General Manager role in 2007.

Potokar is the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovenia and a member of the council of Central and Eastern European Management Development Association CEEMAN.
