Health and Wellbeing Committee, drafting a response to the proposed new legal solutions to healthcare financing, also met with representatives of NGO Network 25×25, who exposed some concrete problems.

NGO Network 25×25 exposes concrete problems of excessive and uneconomic organization of hospitals and public health infrastructure. They believe the emphasis should be more on responsibility and the empowerment of the user, i.e. patient. Basic health services should be provided with clearly defined minimum standards, while the rest should be left to the market; they believe that in the long term, the new financial measures will not be able to provide the rights that they promise.

The taxation of the working population is too high. If we want rights to public health at a European level, costs have to be cut and optimized.

According to NGO Network 25×25, we also need a new Health Services Act.
