Giving Back to the Community – Corporate Volunteering Week, September 28 till October 2. Choose voluntary action and give back to the community!
AmCham Slovenia in cooperation with Slovene Philanthropy and the American Embassy in Slovenia carried out a week of corporate volunteering for the first time in 2013. At that time, the project involved 31 Slovenian and international companies. Last year the number of participating companies increased to 43, while 715 volunteers carried out 52 campaigns. This year, the project has expanded, while introducing a novelty, the possibility of transferring the knowledge of experts from businesses to NGOs in areas where they need it the most, through the new Mentorships Catalog.
The main long-term objective and at the same time large-scale campaign Giving Back to the Community – Corporate Volunteering Week AmCham Slovenia and the Slovene Philanthropy is not only the active participation of volunteers in this week of corporate volunteering, but also and above all to those companies in Slovenia which have not yet been “awakened” and have not yet activated operation of social responsibility in their DNA and their long-term strategies. Only by combining a healthy economy and civil society – socially vulnerable groups – we can hope and expect revival of the society. We believe that such a national project can awaken and encourage many companies to a similar thought and action.
This year, we will carry out the project Giving Back to the Community – Corporate Volunteering Week AmCham Slovenia and the Slovene Philanthropy between September 28 and October 2, 2015, and we invite you to get actively involved in volunteer actions.
You can choose voluntary action between three different catalogs:
3. Corporate Actions for the Establishment of the National Centre of Volunteering
Applications are open until 14th of September 2015.
