We are kindly inviting you to join us at one of the corporate voluntary activities (please, look through our catalog of activities), that will be held within the project »GIVING BACK TO COMMUNITY – AmCham Corporate Voluntary Week«, held in the period from 30 September till 4 October 2013, which we are organizing together with the humanitarian organization, the Slovene Philanthropy, Association for Promotion of Voluntary Work.
The partner of the project is the Embassy of the United States of America to the Republic of Slovenia.
The honorary patron of the project »GIVING BACK TO COMMUNITY – AmCham Corporate Voluntary Week« is H.E. Borut Pahor, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, who will also actively participate in one of the voluntary activities within the “Giving Back to Community” Project.
We believe that the corporate voluntary activities form a significant part of the social responsibility in companies and at the same time contribute to improving the business climate among the employees. By participating at the corporate voluntary activities the employees namely get better acquainted among themselves, strengthen mutual relations and improve cooperative team spirit, as they network and participate also at activities that differ from those within their workplaces. At the same time they help the others, do a good work and contribute to the community. The voluntariness enhances values such as solidarity, compassion and humanity and strengthens self-esteem and personal satisfaction.
The voluntary programs in companies have already a long tradition in the developed world, as they provide strong links with the local community and bring benefits to all parties – employees, companies, non-profit organizations and local communities. An increasing number of corporate voluntary actions has been lately noticed also in Slovenia and was met with a great response. The volunteers return full of positive energy and good feelings.
