I am proud that we are an important mutual partner in the process of changes and that the AmCham Slovenia Committees have proven to be the agents of request for a better business environment not only for merely criticism but for a reasonable dialogue. On this occasion I would like to express my gratitude to all of you who cooperate within Committees and wish you a determined work also in the future.

Our networking events are being more and more well attended and thus becoming an important center of pro business orientated people. Therefore I am particularly glad that we will in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Ljubljana, Japti and CEED and with the support of Ministry of Finance, Ministry of the Economy and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia organize the Conference U.S. – Slovenia Business Bridge in April this year. The cooperation and mutual stimulation undoubtedly prove to be the key to success.

A project which proved to be responsible within the society and is contributing intensely to the stimulation of the leadership in Slovenia is the project AmCham Young Professionals, which is developing fast and will be this year even up-graded.

In accordance with the AmCham Slovenia Statute, the President, as well as the Board members may manage two successive mandates. My running the Chamber is nearing completion. Nevertheless I am remaining an active member. At the General Assembly which will be held in June this year, a new President and new four Board Members will be elected. On this occasion I would like to put it to you to take into consideration also yourselves about giving a try and pledging yourselves into this honorable yet responsible function either regarding the presidency or participation at the Board. All detailed information is at your disposal at the AmCham Team. Personally I would especially like to invite the AmCham Vice President Mr. Matej Potokar whom I trust completely and has my entire support to the candidacy for the AmCham Slovenia President.

I am looking forward to all the meetings with you and wish you success at work!

Tomaž Lovše, President of AmCham Slovenia
