Charity plays an important role in today’s society, which is why the Plesni Coctail and Pionirski dom – Centre for Youth Culture are organizing the Charity Gala Jenko Ball, which will take place on 14 March 2014. The reception will start at 19.30, followed by the official ceremony at 20.00 and dancing until 1 pm.

This year’s ball is special because it marks the 90th anniversary of the beginnings of dance lessons with Adolf Jenko. After a long time you will be able to see the dance performance of the Polonaise (there will be 16 couples). The orchestra of the Slovene Police will be playing in the first part of the ball (app. 40 minutes). Several competitive dance couples (dancing the English Waltz, the Viennese Waltz, Tango and Charleston) and some dancers in wheelchairs will perform as well. The architect Tadej Žugman created a portrait of Adolf Jenko especially or this occasion and it will be sold at an auction. The profit will go to the Dance Club Zebra (dancers in wheelchairs).

The second part of the ball will include live music. The highlight of the ball will be the Jenko quadrille, which will be led by Professor Dr. Meta Zagorc. Other group dances, which Adolf Jenko taught first in Festivalna dvorana, will also be performed.
