TAX COMMITTEE

The Tax Committee prepared a Position Paper – Proposals for the change of legislation in the taxation area. The Paper was sent to Mateja Vraničar, State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance with whom there will be a meeting regarding the topic mentioned held on Wednesday, 15 September, 2010. Ajša Vodnik, M.Sc., AmCham Executive Director, Barbara Guzina, Chair of the Tax Committee and Tjaša Habič, member of the Tax Committee will attend and present the proposals.

PUBLIC PROCUREMENT COMMITTEE

The Public Procurement Committee sent their comments upon the Bill about the Legal Protection in the Procedures of Public Procurement to the Ministry of Finance – Predlog Zakona o pravnem varstvu v postopkih javnega naročanja.

The Committee is also preparing some proposals, comments on the public procurement area which will be presented to the Slovenian Government.

CSR – CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY WORKING GROUP

The members of CSR Working Group have on their meeting held on 2 September, 2010 came to a conclusion to encourage the AmCham members to participate in humanitarian actions.

This month there are two possibilities of how to improve the lives of others:

1. COLLECTING CARTRIDGES: your company can contact Red noses clown doctors and join the recycling programme on http://www.recycling4smile.org/

2. COLLECTING CORKS: you can contact mia.zamaski@gmail.com and help a 5 years old Mia, who got blind, to gather money for the operation.

AmCham is a supporting partner of IRDO – Institute for the Development of Social Responsibility which is organizer of the Slovenian Social Responsibility Award HORUS 2010. This Award is given in three categories: small, medium sized and large enterprises. In 2009 the HORUS award was obtained by Informa Echo d.o.o., Atech elektronika d.o.o. and Trimo Trebnje d.d.. The deadline for applications is running out, therefore we ask all of you to send your application.
