Intellectual Property Committee focused on the challenges in the management of copyrights and collective management.

Committee members discussed the challenges in the field of protection of copyright and related rights, which are primarily related to the legislation which does not reflect the development challenges of the past 25 years since the adoption of an umbrella act. Another important challenge is to stop flawed and inconsistent jurisprudence, which occasionally occurs due to the organization of judicial protection of intellectual property rights. The Committee has also called for the strengthening of both the management and the staff of the competent administrative authorities in the field of intellectual property.

The Committee will prepare a brief set of guidelines for the more effective exercising of copyright and related rights, particularly in terms of administrative and procedural obstacles in order to make the Slovenian business environment as competitive as possible.
