The Student Entrepreneurship and Internship 2022 program starts today!
14 ambitious students of economics, mechanical engineering, social sciences, biotechnology, and graphic design will dedicate part of their summer vacation to education in the field of entrepreneurship. Between the 11th and 22nd of July, students will combine their study paths with the business world, and therefore will gain some practical knowledge and new experiences through the SEI program.
This year’s SEI program officially began today, with the welcoming speech given by US Ambassador Jamie Harpootlian and Ajša Vodnik, CEO of AmCham Slovenia. In the upcoming two weeks of the SEI program, students will walk the diverse path of the following activities:
- Lectures in the field of entrepreneurship, economics, and sales that will put forward practical examples and successful entrepreneurial stories,
- Field visits, where students will be able to visit selected companies and institutions,
- Lectures with exceptional guests from Slovenia and USA,
- Internship in selected companies, members of AmCham Slovenia.
The SEI course is built around an experiential lean start-up project. For the project, students will work in teams to research and develop a business concept of their own that they will present on the final day of class. The program also includes internships in selected companies, members of AmCham Slovenia: New Moment, Kolektor, Tehnološki park, NLB Leasing & GO, Parsek, Atlantica Droga Kolinska, Better, MBills, Mercator, Philip Morris, Be-Terna, Luna/TBWA, and AmCham Slovenia. Moreover, we wanted to ensure they get the opportunity to experience the broad spectrum of activities that the business world offers. Therefore, we organized visits to media house POP TV, company Juicy Marbles, Development Centre Novo mesto, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and Bank of Slovenia.
