AmCham Slovenia, in cooperation with the public agency SPIRIT Slovenia, together with the Embassy of the USA in Ljubljana and the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Washington, organized the eleventh AmCham Business Development Delegation to the USA, which took place from January 3 to 8, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The delegation was attended by 27 business people and representatives of Slovenian companies from various fields.
The program included a visit to the most important technology fair in the world CES (Consumer Technology Association), where as many as 3,900 exhibitors from all over the world exhibit, visits to innovative companies dealing with databases and the development of smart cities, meetings with business associations and many other exciting things, which have impressed anyone interested in green transformation, digitalization, and new business models, anyone who wants new business opportunities, as Nevada is known for many industries such as IT, logistics, aerospace, energy, healthcare, gambling, breakthrough technologies, etc.
Members of the delegation also had the opportunity to visit the scientific research institute Black Fire Innovation, where Prof. dr. Bo Bernhard introduced the new term Fun Economy, which generates as much as 16% of the world economy = 10% tourism + 1% sports + 4-6% entertainment.
At Switch Las Vegas, they have presented them with the concept of the most advanced data center, the entire energy consumption of which is based on green energy.
They had the opportunity to test Tesla vehicles from Elon Musk’s The Boring Company, which built a 29-mile tunnel system last year under the city to transport passengers in Las Vegas.
They also met with the world’s leading researchers of Alzheimer, as UNLV’s Department of Brain Health is known for its advanced research in biomarkers and mental health.
Members met with the Executive Director and President of Conventional Center Las Vegas, Mr. Steve Hillom. In the center, among other things, they manage all major congresses that come to the city. They will also help organize Formula 1, which is coming to Las Vegas for the first time in history, in November 2023.
They were also pleased to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Slovenian company Chipolo, which they prepared on the sidelines of the CES fair.

Ajša Vodnik, CEO of AmCham Slovenia, added: “The AmCham business development delegations, which we organize in cooperation with Spirit Slovenia, are an excellent opportunity for the Slovenian economy to open up to an important market such as the US market, and companies also create new opportunities and partnerships. Delegations create a network of advanced Slovenian companies that know how to cooperate and thus transfer their knowledge and proactive views to the Slovenian environment.”
