Dear AmCham USANavigator Members and Friends,

We are pleased to invite you to a practical discussion on

Visas & Consular Essentials for Doing Business in the U.S.

This time, we will be joined by a representative from the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Ljubljana, with whom we will explore practical questions that companies face when doing business in the United States.

The discussion will focus on visa processes, including an overview of ESTA and various business and investment visa categories, as well as the basics of the application process. We will also touch on cooperation with consular services, particularly from the perspective of what this means in practice for companies entering the U.S. market or already operating there.

The event will provide an opportunity for an open discussion and concrete questions, and we encourage you to bring along your own experiences or challenges!

Our guest will be:

Julia Benson has served as Consular Chief at the U.S. Embassy in Ljubljana since July 2025. A career diplomat, she brings extensive international experience, having previously served in Karachi, Pakistan; Washington, D.C.; Vientiane, Laos; and Lima, Peru.

She is a former Peace Corps Volunteer and holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the Middlebury Institute of International Studies.

The event will take place on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 9:00 until 10:15 in Vander Urbani Resort, Krojaška ulica 6, 1000 Ljubljana.

The event will be moderated by Vida Dolenc Pogačnik, COO and International Cooperation Director at AmCham Slovenia.
