A ''Slovenianized'' American Sets a Mirror in Front Of Us. A talk with Noah Charney.

Our December meeting will be an interview with an American writer and art historian who lives with his family in Kamnik.

Before going on his train trip around Europe in 2000, he left his Lonely Planet Guide with his five friends, asking them to add their suggestions and note down the places he needed to visit. Everyone circled Lake Bled. After living in Venice, Florence, Rome, Madrid, and Leiden, he came to in Ljubljana and fell in love with Slovenia, to him, the most beautiful country in the world.

Why did he fall in love with Slovenia and Plečnik?

How is his assimilation into Slovenian society going?

What are some differences between the American and Slovenian environment?

What did he experience during his trip around Slovenia and what else is he planning?

We'll be talking about these topics and more.
