At General Assembly AmCham Report was presented by Executive Director Mrs. Ajša Vodnik, MSc. We are proud to announce that we gained 42 new members from September 2009 – September 2010. So AmCham has 160 members and we are planning to enlarge the number, but will strongly take care for quality what we can offer all members.
Our numerous events (Business Breakfasts, Business Cocktails, Seminars, and Business Luncheons) were presented through a short film, which was greeted by a great applause. We plan to organize a few more events till the end of the year.
The financial situation of AmCham is monitored by the Board. We have permanent smooth Cash Flow and the forecast shows that the financial year 2010 will be positive.
Our new program AmCham Young Professionals is evolving into well received aggregate of lectures and great network.
The report about Working Committees and Working Groups was given by Project Manager Mrs. Vida Dolenc Pogačnik. All Working Committees have been very active, especially Tax, Public Procurement and Labour Committee, many proposals, position papers and opinions were introduced to our decision-makers.
At election participants gave their support to two new Board Members Mr. Jurij Giacomelli, Delo d.d. and Mr. Robert Trnovec, S&T d.o.o., who got his mandate for additional two years.
Mr. Martin McDowell, Political, Economic and Commercial Chief who is appointed to Board by U.S. Embassy also presented himself.
The annual General Assembly was followed by reception at Goodlife, Ljubljana Castle, were we had interesting debate with Bradley Freden, Charge D’Affairs from U.S. Embassy, Makota Izakura, Charge D’Affairs from Embassy of Japan, H.E. Debora Vainer Barenboim, Ambasador of Brazil, and H.E. G. Jayakar Jerome, Ambasador of India, and a surprise birthday cake for Mr. Freden who celebrated his 50 birthday so the atmosphere was really relaxed and pleasant.
