The Startup Overseas to Colorado 2025 delegation has successfully concluded its inspiring week in the United States, strengthening innovation, entrepreneurship, and transatlantic collaboration between Slovenia and Colorado.
Organized by AmCham Slovenia in collaboration with the Slovene Enterprise Fund, the program brought together 10 ambitious Slovenian startups eager to expand into the U.S. market, explore Colorado’s innovation ecosystem, and connect with key partners, investors, and accelerators.
The program began at the World Trade Center Denver, where the group attended training sessions on doing business in the United States, covering market preparation, cultural understanding, and strategy development. Special thanks to Anthony Russo and Karen Gerwitz for their valuable insights and warm hospitality.
At the Tech Chat and Denver Economic Development and Opportunity, participants gained practical advice on pitching, investment readiness, and the local business landscape. The GeoTech Environmental Equipment tour highlighted Colorado’s innovative use of technology in sustainability and data-driven development.
In Boulder, the delegation met with Ascent Deep Tech Accelerator and Venture Partners at CU Boulder, discovering how deep-tech innovation and university-based partnerships drive Colorado’s startup success stories.
Back in Denver, 3i Law provided an in-depth session on legal considerations for entering the U.S. market, followed by an insightful visit to the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), where the group explored cooperation opportunities between Slovenia and Colorado.
A visit to The Warehouse Business Accelerator in Loveland showcased how local ecosystems support early-stage companies through mentorship, prototyping, and investment. The group also visited Cutting Edge Steel and RK Mission Critical, where they experienced Colorado’s strength in advanced manufacturing and modular engineering solutions.
The week concluded with a highlight: the World Trade Center Denver Networking Event: The Slovenian Pizza Party, powered by Glowen.
Glowen, a Slovenian company known for its beautifully designed artisan pizza ovens, brought authentic Slovenian flavors and craftsmanship to Denver. Their portable ovens, designed for quality and performance, turned the networking event into an unforgettable evening of innovation, culture, and connection.
A heartfelt thank you to Grega Ivančič and Glowen for showcasing Slovenian creativity at its best, where design meets tradition, and innovation meets warmth.
Startup Overseas to Colorado 2025 once again proved that Slovenian innovation and talent have global reach, and that strong transatlantic partnerships remain the key to future growth.
The program is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union, specifically through the European Regional Development Fund.
It is implemented under the program “Content Support for Faster Global and Sustainable Growth of Innovative SMEs (DevelopmentPlus Program)” within the European Cohesion Policy Program for the period 2021–2027.
