Dear Members of AmCham Slovenia, esteemed partners and friends,

AmCham Advocacy, together with the AmCham Young Leaders Club Snowball Think Tank, invites you to join a strategic discussion on what Slovenia and the Slovenian economy must do to remain competitive in an increasingly demanding global environment. Do we genuinely aim to be a country that drives growth, innovation, and investment, or are unpredictability and administrative burden still holding back our full potential?

Slovenia succeeds in sports because of ambition, discipline, and a clear sense of purpose. The question is whether we are ready to bring that same determination into our business sphere?

How do the members of the Young Leaders Club, stepping forward this time as challengers, view ambition, competitiveness, and talent development? What perspective do these emerging business leaders, united within the Snowball Think Tank, contribute to the broader national debate?

What concrete recommendations emerge from the constructive work of more than 380 experts engaged across seven AmCham committees as part of our advocacy efforts?

Are we finally ambitious enough to place competitiveness and a winning mindset at the very center of our national strategy?

These and other important questions will be addressed directly to the presidents and representatives of political parties that, according to the latest public opinion polls, are expected to enter the National Assembly in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Their political visions will be examined in light of the real challenges faced by the business community as we open a direct and substantive dialogue about the economic future Slovenia can and must shape.

The representatives of the following political parties will join us:

The Business Breakfast will be moderated by Ajša Vodnik, Msc, CEO of AmCham Slovenia and Chair of AmChams in Europe, and Kristjan Pahor, AmCham YOUng Platform Leader.

At the heart of the discussion will be the key issues that will shape Slovenia’s economic and social landscape during the next government’s term.

Young People and Talent: How can Slovenia reverse the brain drain and create conditions in which young professionals choose to build their careers and entrepreneurial ambitions at home? How can the education system become more effective, more future-oriented, and better aligned with the needs of the economy? What kind of environment encourages innovation, productivity, and high value-added growth?

International Competitiveness: In a time of geopolitical uncertainty, rapid technological advancement, and increasingly complex regulatory frameworks, how can Slovenia strengthen its position in the global economy? How can we ensure a stable, predictable, and growth-oriented business environment that allows companies to plan and invest with confidence?

Investment: How can Slovenia shape a regulatory, tax, and administrative framework that attracts both domestic and foreign investors? How can trust in the rule of law be reinforced while building a stable, predictable, and competitive investment climate that supports the country’s long-term development?

The AmCham Business Breakfast will take place

on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Ljubljana.

Coffee to Connect will begin at 8:15 at the same venue.

You can register for the event via the mail you received.

This AmCham Business Breakfast will be held in Slovenian, with English interpretation.
