Dear Members of the Intellectual Property Commission and Young Leaders Club of AmCham Slovenia,

we invite you to a very special lunch meeting where we will be hosting Rebecca Bresnik, Professor of Space Law at the University of Houston, in collaboration with the US Embassy in Slovenia. As an experienced lawyer, she will present her view of treating space as an object of international law.

The race for the appropriation of parts of space, the mining and economy of the celestial bodies, the self-sufficiency of the legal subsystem of the universe within the reach of international law, and the principle of the well-being of all mankind are just some of the issues that we will touch on.

Rebecca Bresnik is an expert and experienced lawyer in Space law, international business, and international relations. In 2004, she joined the office of General Advisor to NASA's Johnson Space Center, where she serves as an International Affairs Advisor and is the lead attorney for the International Space Station. A common bond with Slovenia is her husband, Randy Bresnik, a NASA astronaut of Slovenian descent.
