Dr. MARKO MAJER , CEO and Founding Partner, Mayer McCann, Ljubljana

With nearly thirty years of experience, Marko is one of the pioneers of the Slovenian advertising industry. After participating in Slovenia's first MBA program, he started his own agency in 1991, and ten years later in 2001, he linked it to to the McCann Worldgroup global advertising network. Throughout his career, he has worked on creative content development and marketing strategies for prestigious international and local clients from nearly every industry and has accumulated a long track record of success stories and awards in both areas. In 2011, he joined the first generation of executive doctoral students, again at the IEDC Bled School of Management, where he combined his expertise in marketing communications and leadership into research on Generation Y in the European advertising industry. His thesis has received a lot of professional attention and was recently published in a book. Invitations to lecture at prestigious business schools in Europe are gradually becoming the main focus of his professional activities, thus encouraging him to wear two hats interchangeably: one of an advertising professional and another of a business school lecturer.
