Once a traditional southern state, North Carolina is today a hub for life science and biotechnology and home to international pharmaceutical and biotechnological companies. North Carolina is home to Duke University and the famous Research Triangle Park (RTP), one of the largest research parks in the world. RTP hosts many high-tech companies, research institutions, and start-ups that work together to foster technological advancement and innovation.
SOUTH CAROLINA
It is also known as a center of manufacturing excellence, with nearly 500 automotive companies operating in the area. In addition to manufacturing, biotechnology and energy solutions are important industries. The technology hub in advanced energy solutions is one of the priorities of the state’s economy. South Carolina is the third fastest-growing state in the U.S.
