At a recent joint meeting of the AmCham Intellectual Property Committee and the AmCham Ready 4D Future Committee, members of both committees discussed areas and legislation affecting intellectual property, technology, artificial intelligence, and the importance of data.

Among the legislation that significantly affects and will continue to affect the operation of Slovenian businesses, members highlighted, in particular, the Digital Markets Act, the Digital Services Acts, the Data Act, and the Data Governance Act, and also emphasized artificial intelligence, which, despite intense competition from global companies, represents an opportunity for Slovenian businesses, especially in specific areas.

Members emphasized the need for coordinated goals between the two commissions and proposed closer cooperation to help businesses navigate the changing regulatory environment of new technologies. These topics will also be essential to the autumn discussion at the AmCham business breakfast.
