Meeting of the AmCham Finance Committee and the Health and Wellbeing Committee on Investments in Healthcare
On Friday, February 7, 2025, a joint meeting of the AmCham Finance Committee and the Health and Wellbeing Committee took place, where members focused on the critical topic of investing in innovation in healthcare as a driver of socio-economic development.
During the discussion, members of both committees emphasized that healthcare extends beyond the sole responsibility of the Ministry of Health and that active cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy is essential in planning reforms. The committees highlighted that the healthcare system is also one of the largest organizations in Slovenia, requiring strategic management and long-term investments.
The meeting concluded with concrete action points. The two committees will jointly prepare case studies that will clearly demonstrate the urgency of changing the perception of healthcare investments and support their findings with impact analyses on productivity and economic sustainability. It is crucial to understand that investments in healthcare should not be seen as an expense, but as a strategic investment in the long-term well-being of society.
