Key points from the AmCham Health and Wellbeing Committee meeting
At the last meeting of the AmCham Health and Wellbeing Committee, held on 10 September 2024, members focused on topics shaping the future of the Slovenian healthcare system.
Mag. Ajša Vodnik, CEO, AmCham Slovenia and Chair, AmChams in Europe, presented the ambitious Biotech Hills initiative, which aims to attract investment in the Slovenian biotechnology and pharmaceutical sector. The initiative, which will bring long-term benefits to society as a whole, including in the field of healthcare, has received a positive response, and members of the committee were invited to join as supporters.
The meeting also discussed the emerging version of the Committee’s Position Paper, where it was stressed that effective improvement of the health system requires cooperation between the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Finance and the economy. Members suggested that the language on target management of health facilities should be clearer and more accessible. They agreed to send their additions and comments on the document by 13 September 2024.
Of particular importance is the announcement of an event in November, co-organised with the Economic Circle, to replace the traditional AmCham Focus.
The meeting ended with a clear objective – to improve the Slovenian healthcare system through innovation and open dialogue with key partners.
