Meeting of the AmCham Sustainable Growth Committee
At the meeting of the AmCham Sustainable Growth Committee held on November 27, 2024, we focused on the current state of green policy under the new mandate of the European Parliament and Commission and its impact on the investment environment in Europe. Pre-election forecasts suggested a shift toward a more investment-oriented policy and a relaxation of some stricter environmental measures. Therefore, the meeting centered on understanding how these changes are being reflected in practice.
The guests from AmCham EU, Anastasia Lajri and Cécile Bialot, presented the key changes introduced by the new mandate of the European Parliament and Commission in the field of green policy, highlighting legislative initiatives such as the Net Zero Industry Act and the Packaging Waste Regulation. The discussion shed light on opportunities for innovation and the challenges faced by companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises.
The meeting was moderated by Živa Jezernik, Co-Chair of the Sustainable Growth Committee. The event provided an excellent opportunity for an in-depth discussion on the future of green policy and its impact on the competitiveness of the European economy.
