Student Entrepreneurship and Internship (SEI) 2026 Program
The two-week Student Entrepreneurship and Internship (SEI) 2026 program, which we have been organizing together with the U.S. Embassy in Slovenia for many years, concluded today. This year, the program brought together 23 outstanding students from different Slovenian universities and fields of study, giving them insight into modern entrepreneurship, the innovation ecosystem, and the business environment.
During the first week of the program, participants explored the Slovenian and international entrepreneurial ecosystem, the business environment, company financing, intellectual property, macroeconomic trends, and study and research opportunities in the United States through interactive lectures and site visits. They visited and got to know the following organizations and companies: the Bank of Slovenia, CMS Law, Finance, ASEF, Business Angels of Slovenia, Sinergise, Planet, IMAD, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, NLB MUZA, Pipistrel, Sartorius BIA Separations, Incom Leone, C-ASTRAL, Technology Park Ljubljana, the Ljubljana University Incubator (LUI), Biosistemika, Outbrain/Zemanta, Ad futura, the Association of VTIS, and EducationUSA Slovenia.
The second part of the program was dedicated to a hands-on entrepreneurial challenge based on the Lean Startup methodology, led by Matija Goljar. Working in teams, students developed their own business ideas — from exploring user needs to designing a business model, testing solutions, preparing prototypes, and developing project presentations.
The SEI 2026 program covered two weeks of:
- lectures on practical entrepreneurship and economics,
- site visits to companies and institutions,
- guest lectures,
- networking with entrepreneurs, business leaders, and peers.
With the SEI program, the U.S. Embassy in Slovenia and AmCham Slovenia enable selected students each year to connect theory with practice and complete internships at selected companies that are members of AmCham Slovenia.
